The Elbert Memorial Hospital Foundation made a donation of $500,000 to the hospital to assist with the hospital’s current needs,  according to EMH Foundation Chair Leanne Layne.
A $500,000 check was presented to CEO Kerry Trapnell at last week’s meeting of the Elbert Memorial Hospital Foundation.
The check presentation was made in the Charles Ruff Room at the hospital.
“We are glad we were able to work together to help meet the current needs of our hospital,” according to Layne. “We are grateful to the donors and representatives of the endowments who stepped up for the hospital. The foundation holds close to the commitment to support the mission of Elbert Memorial Hospital.”
“Our previous management agreement left EMH with a lot of old debts that we have been trying to recover from on our own,” Trapnell said. “We have seen great growth in several areas of the hospital this year. This generous donation from the foundation and its donors was a huge step towards helping the hospital move forward at a critical time. Our hospital and our community are truly blessed to have the Elbert Memorial Hospital Foundation here to help.”
