The EMH Surgical Services Department, under the direction of Ande Gunter, RN, provides inpatient and outpatient surgical care for Elbert and surrounding counties.
Our surgeons offer experience and compassionate care. Our team of nurses, certified nurse anesthetists and surgical techs deliver quality care you need close to home.

General Surgery:
Dr. Wells graduated in 2002 with an undergraduate degree in Microbiology and earned his Medical Degree from The University of Michigan in 2007. He then completed his residency at Greenville Health System. Dr. Wells is board certified in General Surgery and has been practicing medicine for 14 years. Prior to joining our practice, Dr. Wells was a general surgeon at Piedmont Healthcare.

Orthopedic Surgery: Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. David Ryan provides: Total Knee and Hip Replacement, Carpel Tunnel Release, Trigger Finger Release, Cubital Tunnel Release and Shoulder & Knee Scopes.
Onsite physical therapy and if extended therapy is needed, inpatient rehabilitation is available in our in-house Swing Bed Center. Just ask your physician for a referral.
